Organizational Need 3: Performance Monitoring

Most Companies today do not have a good method of accurately measuring employee performance. There are the usual performance evaluations like number of sales, utilization percentage, and productivity measures, but most would agree that employee performance goes beyond this. Typically, the other means to get at performance is through quarterly or end of year reviews from a manager. Many in operations see this as a burden and often do not take it seriously. What results is an HR department that is disconnected from real Operational Performance. We provide a solution that bridges this gap. Our system is designed to make it easy for the personnel in operations to easily capture behavior and performance as it occurs, providing instantaneous performance data. For example, we are currently working with NASA to monitor astronaut performance during deep space flight. This client requires a system that is able to accurately capture performance data as it occurs in a nonintrusive way, which is what our software is able to achieve. Our system is designed to first focus on the end users, where we make it simple for them to capture performance data. Instantaneously capturing performance data frees personnel from having to recall an individual's performance on quarterly and yearly reports. Instead, they have relevant, current information that they can use to monitor personnel performance. Consequently, this rich set of data can be used by HR to identify top performers. As well, HR can use this information to determine specific organizational training needs instead of the generic training that is often offered. For example, instead of offering a training course in Communication the HR department will have specific behavior information that can not only identify that specific issue, like formal communication to clients, but also the personnel that need this training.
