Company History

Horizon Performance was founded in 2003 when the US Army Special Forces Command recognized a need to significantly improve its assessment, selection, development and training system for new personnel due to the rapid increase in the size of the organization while it fought multiple terrorist threats simultaneously. We worked closely with the them to develop a more advanced system enabled by technology to better capture individual performance and evaluate their personnel. This comprehensive system included these specific requirements:
Provide a data collection system that will overlay upon the existing testing procedures and which gathers the data real time.

Provide a user friendly ability to collect feedback on individuals from their assessors, their peers, and themselves.
Provide performance reports that are easy to interpret which are based upon the real time data coming from both subjective evaluations and objective measurements.

Provide built in feedback mechanisms for not only the students but the assessors to continually improve the course instruction.
Provide a solution which is able to quickly adapt to the changing environment of the Special Forces Mission while being able to take advantage of new technologies for data collection both in the classroom and during field exercises even during night training.

The Horizon Performance Gideon System became a vital component in developing the future US Army Special Forces that is in action world-wide today. By effectively Capturing the Present performance and behavior of key personnel, we have proven you can Shape the Future of tomorrow's organization.

When the Marine Special Operations Command was directed to begin a similar training program in 2006, they researched military selection and training programs around the world to find the best system to assist them in the evaluation process. Horizon Performance became their partner in the selection of the best Marines for their new Special Operations Unit, and we maintain that relationship today. The company's growth in the number of psychologists, software developers, and system analysts allowed for the creation of additional features which were needed by NASA in 2009 as it was developing its deep space mission teams. We continue to work closely with them on several related projects as well. Additionally, we are now working with businesses that desire to have their senior management improve their ability to perform and adapt to unique situations by obtaining immediate feedback from team members and qualified assessors.

Horizon Performance provides a unique, yet widely proven system to improve a company's effort to recruit, select, develop, and train high investment, key personnel. The solutions we design are specifically configured for each client. They are robust to deal with tough training environments while remaining highly flexible, capable of adapting to our clients multiple operational requirements.
